Sell Your Mineral Collection to Sacred Earth
At Sacred Earth, we buy mineral collections featuring collector-quality crystallized mineral specimens. We also consider inherited collections and select individual specimens. Every submission is reviewed to determine whether it fits our current buying interests.
Because every collection must be examined in person before purchase, we generally consider collections located within approximately two hours of our New Jersey base, including New Jersey and nearby portions of New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
What We’re Looking For
We focus on collector-quality crystallized mineral specimens rather than ordinary rocks or decorative stone products. You do not need to identify every specimen before contacting us—clear photographs and any available labels are enough for an initial review.
We May Be Interested In
- Collector-quality crystallized mineral specimens
- Complete or substantial private collections
- Inherited collections containing collector specimens
- Labeled specimens with locality information
- Unusual, historic, rare, or display-quality pieces
- Select individual specimens, including quality gold specimens
Outside Our Current Buying Focus
- Ordinary landscaping, driveway, or field rocks
- Tumbled stones and polished pieces
- Carvings, towers, spheres, and decorative shapes
- Bulk craft material or common decorative stone
- Heavily damaged or repaired specimens
- Unsorted low-grade material without collector interest

Inspection and Offer
When appropriate, we’ll arrange an in-person inspection. If we’re interested in purchasing the collection, we’ll discuss an offer with you.
You Don’t Need to Identify Everything
If you inherited a collection or are helping a family member, you may not know what every specimen is. That is completely fine. Clear photographs and any labels, boxes, records, or collection notes you have can provide enough information for an initial review.
- A wide photograph showing the overall collection
- Clear photographs of the best or most representative specimens
- Close-up photographs of labels and locality information
- The approximate number and general size of the specimens
- Information about how much space the collection occupies
Photographs That Help Us Evaluate a Collection
Photograph the collection in natural or neutral light whenever possible. Include several overall views, followed by close-ups of representative specimens and their labels. Please do not apply filters or digitally alter the specimens.
Please submit photographs of the collection as it currently appears. Do not clean, repair, polish, or alter specimens before photographing them.
Submit Your Mineral Collection
Share your location, collection details, and several clear photographs. We’ll review the information and contact you if the collection may fit our current buying interests.
Questions About Selling a Mineral Collection
Do you purchase every mineral collection?
No. We review each submission individually to determine whether the collection fits our current buying interests. Collector-quality crystallized mineral specimens, established collections, inherited collections, and select individual specimens are our primary focus.
Where do you purchase mineral collections?
Because collections must be examined in person before purchase, we generally consider collections located within approximately two hours of our New Jersey base. This includes New Jersey and nearby portions of New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Do I need to identify every specimen before submitting the form?
No. Clear photographs of the overall collection, representative specimens, labels, boxes, records, and collection notes can provide enough information for an initial review.
Should I clean the specimens before photographing them?
No. Please photograph the collection as it currently appears. Do not clean, repair, polish, glue, coat, or otherwise alter specimens before submitting photographs.
What happens after I submit my collection information?
We review the photographs and details you provide. If the collection appears to match our buying interests, we’ll contact you to ask additional questions and determine whether an in-person inspection is appropriate.
Does submitting the form guarantee an inspection or offer?
No. A submission begins the review process but does not guarantee an inspection or purchase offer. If an inspection is appropriate, any offer would be made only after we have examined the collection in person.
Do you purchase inherited or estate mineral collections?
Yes. We consider inherited collections and estate collections when the specimens fit our current buying interests. You do not need to identify every specimen before contacting us; photographs, labels, boxes, records, and collection notes can help us conduct the initial review.
Do you purchase individual mineral specimens?
We may purchase select individual specimens when they are collector-quality examples that fit our current buying interests. Submit clear photographs and any available locality, label, or provenance information through the collection form.
How do you evaluate a mineral collection?
We consider specimen quality, mineral species, locality, condition, collection size, labels, provenance, market demand, and how well the collection fits our current buying interests. Any purchase offer is made only after an in-person examination.
